1 in every 100 people has Coeliac Disease
Why Gluten Free?
A Gluten Free diet is essential for people diagnosed with Coeliac Disease and provides improvement in gastrointestinal problems to others. Did you know 1 in every 100 people has Coeliac Disease? The key treatment for both coeliac disease and non-coeliac gluten sensitivity is cutting gluten out of the diet, starting with your daily bread.
Our 100% Gluten Free Breads and Cakes are baked in a special bakery and without the protein gluten, which is found in grains such as wheat, barley, rye and triticale (a cross between wheat and rye). Our bakers have been baking Artisan breads for over a decade and are excited to use their experience and creativity for our new range of Gluten Free products.
Coeliac Disease
Coeliac disease (pronounced see-lee-yak) is a condition causing some adults and children to react to gluten, the protein found in wheat, barley and rye. Some coeliacs are also sensitive to the protein found in oats. If a coeliac eats gluten the lining of the small intestine becomes damaged reducing the coeliac's ability to absorb the nutrients from food. This can lead to various symptoms and complications if undiagnosed.
It’s an autoimmune disease and it’s not contagious. The only treatment is adhering to a gluten-free diet for life after a positive diagnosis has been made. Medicine or drugs are not required. For more information please visit www.Coeliac.ie
